20th Annual Fort Watauga Knap-In

Saturday, September 16, 2017 @ 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Sunday, September 17, 2017 @ 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Knapping—with a “K”—has nothing to do with sleep! Knapping is the art of making stone tools, and the Knap-In at Fort Watauga is our celebration of Tennessee Archaeology Week.

Primitive skills and flintknapping lovers unite at Sycamore Shoals State Historic Area!  This annual event brings together “knappers” from throughout the Tri-Cities region as they demonstrate the age old skills of knapping stone using traditional techniques.
