A Christmas Carol at Sabine Hill (SOLD OUT)

by | Dec 1, 2025

Thursday & Friday, December 11th & 12th

7:00 PM – 8:30 PM

A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens, has been a hallmark of the Christmas season since it was
first published in 1843. Join nationally acclaimed entertainer and local celebrity David Browning
as he interprets this timeless tale as a one-man dramatic presentation in the person of Ebenezer
Scrooge and 12 other characters from Dickens’ classic story. Browning may be best known for
his hilarious antics as “The Mayberry Deputy” based on the character of Barney Fife from the
classic TV sitcom The Andy Griffith Show, but he still has many other performances and characters
to his credit, including Ebenezer Scrooge.

Performances will be held on Thursday, December 11th and Friday, December 12th, at 7:00 PM in
the elegant “West Room” of the Historic Taylor House at Sabine Hill State Historic Site in
Elizabethton, TN. Following the show, guests will have the opportunity to meet with Mr.
Browning and tour the candlelit rooms, festively decorated for Christmas. To top it off, A
sampling of Victorian-era Christmas treats will be served from the historic Sabine Hill kitchen.

You don’t want to miss this exclusive opportunity to see one of the world’s most popular pieces
of literature come to life in this beautifully restored early 19th-century home. Tickets are $35.00
per individual and may be purchased at https://tnstateparks.com/parks/events/sycamore-shoals.
